In this highly competitive world, it is never too early to master the advantageous
art of packaging and positioning yourself for law school and beyond.
Professional writers call it writer’s block, but panic before a blank page
is not exclusive to writers who are professional. Writing anxiety can
immobilize anyone at any time: business executives behind in correspondence,
students struggling over term papers, lawyers laboring over legal briefs,
nurses, social workers and psychologists dreading report deadlines and high
school and college seniors preparing essays and personal statements for review
by admission committees. People with writing apprehension and a weak grammar
foundation have been known to let these written language deficiencies determine
the career path of their lives. Unfortunately, this may lead them to choose
majors in college, and later jobs in which they have few writing demands. Some
also let these factors limit their earning and advancement potential. Sometimes
even those who have been writing successfully for years suddenly find their
creative juices have run dry at a time when these juices are badly needed to
complete some very important academic, business or personal task. Others of all
ages have stories inside them that they want to tell, but they just cannot seem
to be able to get the words out on paper. At law school, you may be the most
knowledgeable student in class, but if you cannot write well enough on your
written assignments and tests, your grades can drop like a stone. Instead of
the “A” that is commensurate with your genuine mastery of the subject matter,
you will probably have to settle for a “ B” – or worse – all because you have
never been taught systematically how to write well grammatically, structurally
and creatively and persuasively. For better or for worse, as an attorney you
will have to write cogently and quickly virtually on a daily basis. Your success
will depend on it. Your reputation will, in part, be enhanced or diminished by
it.
Do I Really Need This Course?
How extraordinary it would be to learn how to write from professional writers!
At MAC, we have professional writers on staff so that you can avail yourself of
this rare opportunity. The new LSAT/Apps WRITING WORKSHOP, which is a
separate course with a separate fee, is for those who need to and want to
write well – both quickly when under pressure and more thoughtfully when
they have the luxury of time. As a result of being actively engaged in
this workshop, you will be better prepared to not only score high on the
LSAT WRITING SAMPLE but also to be better able to master the academic
curricular demands that are on you 24/7 as a current college student, as
well as those later as a law school student. Imagine finally understanding
and enjoying grammar and writing. The workshop will also reinforce your
burgeoning LSAT vocabulary. Clearly, the only way to cement your
vocabulary is to use it frequently, accurately and naturally. This course
will show you how to properly and powerfully use the myriad of new
vocabulary words that you have been steadily acquiring as you prep at MAC
for the LSAT. As a result, in time you will be able to pen well
written, persuasive short-answer and long-answer essays for homework
and classroom assignments, as well as for mid-term, final and standardized
exams. For especially reluctant writers, Dr. Mac will also show you that,
if you can make a sound verbal argument when speaking, you can easily
learn to write one, as well.
Participants will complete their respective applications and write
all attendant short- and long- answer essays as part of the workshop.
The workshop’s writing tasks will be highly motivational because
they are real-world based, timely, doable and intriguing. MAC will
also assist you in preparing your academic resume(s), an integral part
of your upcoming law school application. These exquisite looking
and professionally prepared documents will showcase your
accomplishments, even if your list of accomplishments is not extensive.
To have this resume done professionally elsewhere would cost
hundreds of dollars. Ask to see sample past resumes and sample
short- and long-answer essays ASAP. They are spectacular - yours
will be, too. We will help you with your law school search and
selection, resume preparation, mock interviews, applications – as
many as you have, – short- and long- answer essay preparation, as
well as provide you with pivotal strategies for penning a super
LSAT Writing Sample.
